Peer-Review Process
PADiR Journal employs a double-blind peer review system to ensure the quality of published research. All submissions must be made through the Editorial Manager manuscript submission system. Authors are required to create an account in our system before submitting their manuscripts. Prior to sending a manuscript to reviewers, it will be screened for plagiarism using Turnitin.
- Manuscript Submission: The corresponding author or submitting author submits the manuscript to PADiR Journal, usually through the online submission system.
- Technical Assessment: The Editorial Office checks the manuscript's structure and formatting according to the journal's Author Guidelines to ensure that all required sections and formatting requirements have been met. The scientific quality of the manuscript is not evaluated at this stage.
- Editor-in-Chief Assessment: The Editor-in-Chief determines whether the manuscript falls within the journal's scope and whether it is sufficiently original and of scientific interest. If it does not meet these criteria, it may be rejected without further peer review.
- Plagiarism Screening: At this stage, the manuscript is screened using Turnitin to determine its similarity index. Manuscripts with a similarity index below 15% proceed to peer review; otherwise, they are rejected due to excessive similarity.
- Reviewer Invitation: The Editor-in-Chief invites suitable reviewers to evaluate the manuscript. Additional invitations are sent, when necessary, until the required number of reviewers has accepted the invitation (two accepted reviewers).
- Invitation Response: Invited reviewers assess the invitation based on their expertise, potential conflicts of interest, and availability before accepting or declining the review request.
- Peer Review: Reviewers read the manuscript several times. The first reading provides an overall impression of the work. If major concerns are identified, the reviewer may recommend rejection without further evaluation. Otherwise, the reviewer performs a detailed assessment and prepares a comprehensive point-by-point review. The review is then submitted to the journal with a recommendation to accept, reject, or request revisions (usually classified as major or minor revisions) before reconsideration.
- Editorial Evaluation of Review Reports: The Editor-in-Chief reviews all reports before making a final decision. If the reviewer reports differ substantially, an additional reviewer may be invited to provide an independent opinion before a final decision is reached.
- Editorial Decision: The Editor-in-Chief sends a decision letter to the author containing the relevant reviewer comments. Reviewer identities remain anonymous to the author(s).
- Submission of the Revised Manuscript: Authors should implement the requested revisions and highlight all changes using red text or yellow highlighting.
- Final Decision: Once the manuscript is accepted, the author is required to pay the applicable publication service fees. The manuscript is then forwarded to the layout editor for typesetting and subsequently to the publisher for publication.
