Dyscalculia Disorder: Intervention and Treatment

Abstract

This research aims to review dyscalculia, a learning disorder characterized by difficulties in understanding mathematical concepts and performing basic arithmetic operations. Individuals affected by this disorder experience difficulties in remembering numbers, arranging them correctly, and understanding mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. This disorder may appear early in childhood and can persist throughout an individual’s life. Dyscalculia negatively affects academic performance in mathematics.

The research examines the causes of this disorder by reviewing several possible contributing factors, including genetic factors, neurological abnormalities, and environmental influences. It also aims to understand the impact of dyscalculia on learning and behavior, how it can be properly identified and diagnosed, and the strategies used for intervention and treatment.
